NO EXCUSES! JUST DANCE!
In November, dance classes will be tougher, teachers will be stricter, and dancers will be pushed harder. Expect to sweat. This is crunch time! Every minute counts. The last few weeks of class before the Oir can mean the difference between a recall and nothing, winning a team medal or going home empty handed, 1st and 2nd place!
Attendance is vital. Classes may run late as teacher will utilize every last minute they can as the Oir grows closer. Please be ready at the beginning of class and plan to stay 15 min late. Solo dancers are expected to remain in class until dismissed by the teacher. Cool downs, stretching, and strengthening exercises are important to dancers training for this competition. Cutting out early will only hurt you in the end.
This can be a very stressful time for everyone! Dancers, teachers, and parents all feel the pressure as the Oir gets closer. Please try to be as cooperative and attentive as possible. Expectations of dancers will be raised and hard work will be rewarded. The dancers’ success at the Oir is a reflection of KKO and the teachers. Therefore, teachers are nervous and pressured, and are very concerned about each and every dancer for the upcoming competition. Please remember that teachers are working with over 60 dancers and parents and will attend to everyone! Please be patient, understanding, and considerate of their time. Their goal is for every dancer to do their best while keeping things organized and helping you to enjoy this experience.
